Teeth Whitening

Even if you brush and floss your teeth everyday, your smile may not be as bright as you want it to be. This can happen for a number of reasons including drinking coffee, tea, red wine or due to age, medications, and previous trauma. Teeth whitening is a simple, safe process that can be done in the office or at home using whitening trays.

Our take home whitening kit uses tray whitening which produces more gradual results. First, an impression of your mouth is taken in our office to create a customized clear tray. Within a few days, the trays are ready and the patient can start whitening. The patient must follow instructions for how to apply the gel to the trays and how often to use it in order to get the maximum whitening results.

Bonding

Bonding is the best way to repair teeth that are slightly chipped, discolored or crooked, while preserving as much of your natural teeth as possible. During the procedure, your dentist will place a filling on your tooth to improve its appearance with a customized shade that matches the appearance of your natural teeth.

Additionally, bonding can be used in place of amalgam fillings since it is much less noticeable than the silver-colored amalgam filling. A major benefit to bonding is that it matches the shade of your natural teeth, so it can be used in the front and back teeth.

Veneers

Veneers are a thin layer of porcelain or composite material placed over the outside of the tooth to vastly improve the appearance of your teeth. Veneers are used to help with tooth damage or for cosmetic reasons. Veneers are a wonderful application for teeth that can be visible when the people smile.

There are two forms of applying veneers: direct and indirect. Direct technique is when composite resin is simply placed on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This is why direct technique is most often referred to as bonding. With the indirect technique, a composite will be fabricated at the dental lab after the first appointment. When the veneers arrive back from the laboratory, the temporary cover is removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. As these are custom made to fit, they will be more aesthetically pleasing.

BOTOX®

Generations Family Dental offers Botox services! Dentists already have an advanced expertise in facial muscles and tissues so administering Botox in our office is virtually painless for our patients.

Botox is a FDA approved drug that is injected into various points of the facial muscles to smooth wrinkles and improve skin appearance. It prevents the nerves from contracting the muscles, softening the appearance of the wrinkles.

The procedure can last anywhere from 3-6 months and requires periodic visits to maintain best results.

JUVÉDERM®

JUVÉDERM® is similar to BOTOX® in that it helps smooth the wrinkles on your face, however they both work on different types of wrinkles. JUVÉDERM® is mostly used for nose to mouth folds, mouth to chin folds, frown lines, upper lip, and the cheekbones. JUVÉDERM® is an FDA- approved cosmetic procedure that is hyaluronic acid based. It’s considered a dermal filler, which helps diminish fine lines, adds volume/fullness back into the face, and can be used as a lip filler.

Receiving facial filler procedures at the dentist may sound questionable, however our dentists are extremely knowledgeable in facial muscles and tissues and are skilled in delivering injections that are virtually painless.

JUVÉDERM® is a temporary treatment for aging and can last anywhere from three months to a year, depending on the person.
